Machinist (CNC Milling) (Houston, TX):


Job Description:


At the direction of the Shop Superintendent, the CNC Machinist II programs, operates, and maintains CNC and manual machining equipment on high-precision carbon steel parts.


Job Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


• Actively participate in JSEA, permit to work, SIMOPS, and safety briefings
• Complete work tasks per superintendent instructions, shop specific guidelines, and approved procedures, and manuals
• Development of one-off machining sequences and processes using multiple machines (saw, mill, lathe, etc.)
• Program machining process utilizing GibbsCAM and Fanuc controls
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
• Complete maintenance and service logs as required for all equipment
• Use mechanically assisted lifting equipment such as overhead gantry cranes and forklifts to safely load and unload parts and materials
• Uphold company quality management systems and safety management systems in all areas of work, notably non-conformance report processes and Stop Work Authority

 

Required Technical Training/Certifications/Experience:


• 5 years industry experience required. Less experience will be considered with verifiable and documented formal training/certification
• Experience with use of common precision measurement tooling such a calipers, dials, and gauges to notate as-built dimension drawings
• Programming and operating Haas VF-6 vertical mill (or similar)
• Use of Fanuc controls
• Proficiency with GibbsCAM software
• Ability and willingness to cross-train on additional CNC and manual machining equipment
• Ability to read and follow engineered drawings with machining dimensions and tolerances
