CAD Designer/Drafter

Reports To: Project Manager

 

Job Purpose:

The Designer / Draftsperson is responsible for transforming concepts into detailed and accurate drawings using computer aided design.  The Designer / Draftsperson will draft parts and assemble these parts using 3D programs.
The Designer/ Draftsman will ensure that company policies and procedures are met in regard to drafting, scheduling, safety, and quality.


Typical Duties & Responsibilities: (Typical duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:)

  • Report daily/weekly/monthly work activity planning to meet project requirements
  • Report daily progress to the General Supervisor, project management and project coordinator
  • Coordinate and work with project management and project engineering to meet on time delivery requirements
  • Conduct operations within accordance to established company policies and procedures
  • Implement corrective actions derived from non-conforming reports as well as complete assigned reporting and investigation activities

Experience/Education/Qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in the CAD field with knowledge of Inventor, Auto Cad, Autodesk and Autodesk Vault. Preferred experience with offshore and plants components, structural and mechanical.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, TWIC Card and US Passport.

  • Strong technical and communication skills; proficient in managing a team and leading others
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in team environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Read/write and interpret the English language
  • Ability to read/interpret written instructions and drawings
  • Computer skills, Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel), Intelex, Versatracker

Physical / Mental Requirements

  • No physical Limitations, must be capable of climbing flights of stairs,  travel and working overtime.
  • Offshore travel by boat or helicopter could occur - but infrequently.
